The facility can be used to give or find help during an emergency
Social media giant Facebook has activated its “Crisis Response” tool for the Chawkbazar fire.
Users can mark themselves as safe, to let their friends and family know that they have not come to harm during the emergency.
The tool can also be used to give or find help during an emergency, get information, and raise money for recovery.
As of now, there are 546 requests for, and 865 offers to, help.
However, how these offers to help can be implemented to assist those seeking assistance is unclear.
As of now, at least 70 people have been killed in a massive fire that engulfed several multi-storey buildings at Nanda Kumar Lane in Chawkbazar’s Churihatta area of Old Dhaka Wednesday night.
