Peya living BPL dream after being barred from visiting stadium in childhood

Update : 09 Nov 2017, 02:20 AM
Model and actress Peya Jannatul is living her dream as an anchor in the BPL 2017. Prior to the start of the fifth edition of the money-spinning tournament, the internationally-acclaimed model had told Dhaka Tribune that it would be an absolute honour for her to host the T20 competition. She had said, “I will be in the field throughout the entire BPL. Although I have experience in the modeling world at home and abroad, the role of a cricket presenter is definitely going to be a new experience for me.”

The actress might be enjoying her new role at the moment but it was not all plain sailing for her in her childhood as she was once barred from visiting the stadium by her parents. A couple of years before her SSC examinations, Bangladesh were scheduled to play sub-continent rivals Sri Lanka and Pakistan in Khulna. Back then, she used to be a pupil at Khulna Government Coronation Girls’ High School. And even though all of her friends went to the stadium to cheer the Tigers, a disappointed Peya was grounded at home as her guardians did not want her to go to the field.

Life however, has certainly changed drastically for the model. In one of her recent Facebook posts, she was perhaps alluding to her childhood memories by saying, “I am currently presenting one of the country’s biggest ever cricket tournaments. Life is definitely uncertain.” A former Miss Bangladesh 10 years ago, Peya is already a famous face for her appearances in various events in the performance arena. From the cover of a Bangladesh magazine to the cover of Vogue, she has conquered it all. She also earned the Miss India Princess Crown four years ago.
