Debutant Taijul strikes in first ball

Taijul Islam erupted with joy after becoming the first Bangladeshi to take a wicket off the very ball in T20Is

Update : 13 Sep 2019, 11:14 PM

Left-arm spinner Taijul Islam made his T20I debut after playing 25 Test matches and half a dozen ODIs for the Tigers.

And the left-armer started his T20I career in the perfect way as he picked up a wicket in his very first delivery.

It was the first ball of the second over and experienced Brendan Taylor was at the crease.

It was a tossed up delivery from Taijul outside off stump and Taylor went for a slog sweep.

But the Zimbabwean wicketkeeper-batsman was unable to connect it and managed an edge which went to short third man; Mahmudullah doing the rest.

Taijul erupted with joy after becoming the first Bangladeshi to take a wicket off the very ball in T20Is.

Don’t forget, Taijul also took a hat-trick on ODI debut.

It seems the left-arm spinner is useful in the shorter formats as well after continuously showcasing heroics in Tests where he recently became the fastest Bangladeshi to bag 100 Test wickets.
