Day-long celebration of filmmaker Manzare Hassin Murad's birthday

The day-long programme ended with a master class on documentary making, conducted by Murad

A day-long event, titled Documenting Me , was held at the Adda auditorium of Edward M Kennedy Center in Dhanmondi on Monday. 

The program was organised by Bangladesh Documentary Council, in collaboration with EMK Center, to celebrate the birthday of documentary film-maker Manzare Hassin Murad.

Director-cinematographer Saiful Wadud Helal delivered the welcome speech, while Murad inaugurated the day-long program by lighting candles.. 

The program began with the inauguration ceremony of a photography exhibition, featuring 20 of Murad’s works. Eminent photographer and teacher Maksudul Bari inaugurated the exhibition.

Sutapa Saha rendered a Tagore song, Jagate ananda jogge for the audience.

There was also a discussion titled My Journey as an Independent Documentary Filmmaker and Film Activist, conducted by Manzare Hassin Murad.

The discussion started with the screening of a documentary titled,The End by Armenian director Artavazd Pelechian.

Documentary filmmakers like Fauzia Khan, Shabnam Ferdousi, Anwar Chowdhury, Farid Ahmed, Bratto Amin, Humaira Bilkis, Jhumur Jui, Jahid Hasan, Fuad Chowdhury, Razibul Hossain, and others attended the event.

A round table discussion titled Challenges of Documentaries Today’  was held at 2:30 pm. The day-long programme ended with a master class on documentary making, conducted by Murad.
