2018 has been nothing short of a dream for automobile lovers

Dhaka witnessed the astounding launch of new lavish cars this year consisting of luxurious, functional and sustainable features. The two new Audis werelaunched on November by the accredited distributors of Audi vehicles in Bangladesh - Progress Motors Imports Ltd. The Q2 and Q5 Quattro officially joined the competent SUV lineup in the Bangladeshi local market. The Q2 powered bya 999 CC gasoline engine producing 116 bhp and 200Nm torque at 2000 rpm which is capable of 19.2 km/l. For Bangladesh, Q2 is getting the optional 7-speed DSG gearbox. The interior holds the usual assortment of Audi luxury items, including an infotainment system and with the customary and classy German finish. The petrol run Q5 has a max torque of 370Nm at 1600-4500rpm has a mileage of 8.5 kmpl.

As the local infrastructure and market demand has increased, Audi takes elegance and dynamics to a new level, with the launch of flagship sedan Audi A8L planned for January 2019. Equipped with numerous assistance systems, an upgraded operating concept that offers a new level of intuitive use, and above all moreluxury, flexibility and comfort with space. The fourth generation opulent A8 includes innovations such as the HD Matrix LED front lights, 10.1/8.6-inch infotainment system, improved passive and active safety, along with one of the most progressive automated driving tech with the smoothest interior seen in their production till now.

Innovation and durability combined, BMW brought sustainable mobility and fuel efficiency in the automobile scene when they launched threeimpressive BMW iPerformance plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs)—the BMW 530e, BMW 740Le xDrive and BMW X5 xDrive40e in November.Executive Motors Ltd, authorized importer and dealer of BMW vehicles in Bangladesh, has presented customers with electrified drivetrains and hoping to enhance the pleasure of driving with the power of electro-mobility. Plug-in hybrid electric vehicles–known as PHEVs– merges a gasoline or diesel engine with an electric motor and a durable large-scale rechargeable battery. Unlike conventional hybrids, PHEVS can be plugged-in and recharged from an outlet, grantingthe car to drive extensive distances using just electricity. When the battery is emptied, the regular engine turns on and the vehicle operates as a conventional, non-plug-in hybrid.

Earlier in 2018, BMW introduced its third generation pioneering premium mid-size Sports Activity Vehicle (SAV)- the BMW X5 with its unique driving qualities on any terrain with unrestricted everyday regular usability. The X5 is a sleek combination between the rough off-road and sporty charm.

The German automakers are set to face some healthy competition from the multiple award winning French automotive brand Peugeot. Launched in Bangladesh by AG Motors, Peugeot is one of the oldest automotive brands in the world. The brand has established its presence in almost 160 countries and won many awards for design and engine technology, alongside capturedseveral titles in in different motor sports competitions. Peugeot 508, the remarkable flagship sedan from the house of French Lion was unveiled during the launch event. Furthermore, a 308 GTLine, two 2008s, and another 508 sedans have been as display in the well decorated, dedicated Peugeot service center in Dhaka.

The sight of luxury cars in the ever-changing economy of Bangladesh is not as rare as one imagines it to be. The soaring car prices, the unsurmountable tax structure and the high-end maintenance may not be able to stop automobile enthusiasts from purchasing their desire. Apart from the German and French extravagance, the 2018 Toyota Camry Hybrid is an affordable luxury car with its powerful shape and captivating style. Camry Hybrid’s redesigned exterior has undergone a total transformation, from its stylish lights to its striking interior, it is a proven sedan to one that pushes the limits. The car is a 2500 cc, 4-cylinder hybrid with 208 bhp. The hybrid is equipped with pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, lane departure alert with steering assist, automatic high beams and dynamic radar cruise controls. Toyota has impressively outdone the previous Camry and delivered with the new dazzling hybrid.

2018 has been nothing short of a dream for automobile lovers as the year has seen splendid international car launches and discovered luxury cars within affordable range. The prevailing issues such as under-construction infrastructure, intolerable traffic and unsurmountable tax are the major obstacles which often makes the gearheads question their need or want to purchase such expensive luxury cars. However, when customers secure good deals from the car traders, receive reliable after sales service and have the assurance of genuine car parts being available, it helps the traders gain customer loyalty and vice versa. These sorts of supplementary services, supportive customer care and innovative marketing has been able to capture the faith of the rising affluent target audience. Such promotions have been successful in decorating the streets of Dhaka with eye-catching sightings of posh vehicles.
