Health and Family Welfare Minister Zahid Maleque has said ICU will be introduced in all of district sadar hospitals across Bangladesh to ensure better medical treatment for people.
He made the statement while replying to a tabled question placed by independent lawmaker Mohammad Shahid Islam at the parliament on Sunday.
“The government has planned to increase the beds of ICUs of all important hospitals, including all medical colleges,” he said.
Minister Maleque said ICU beds are being set up in hospitals based on priority and availability of space.
He said there is also a plan to introduce ICUs in all district sadar hospitals in the future.
Responding to another tabled question placed by treasury bench lawmaker Shafiqul Islam Shimul, the health minister said the government is considering setting up burn units at sadar level hospital.
