Around 4,408 dengue patients hospitalized across Bangladesh: DGHS

The Bangladesh Bank has asked all banks to aid the dengue patients in need as a part of their social responsibility.

The central bank made the call in a circular on Wednesday, in the wake of the countrywide dengue outbreak.

The circular said: “Banks can help cover dengue test fees, blood collection, medicine costs, saline, nets, and other medical costs.”

Around 4,408 dengue patients have been hospitalized across Bangladesh, with the highest 3,561 in Dhaka alone from January till July 30, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

However, the unofficial tally of reported deaths stood at 44 until Wednesday afternoon.
