A mobile court of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has fined four businessmen a total Tk3.05 lakh for the trading and storage of adulterated food in Natore.
RAB acting company commander Rajibul Ahsan said a member of Natore RAB raided Chachaire Bazar in Gurdaspur upazila on Sunday night, acting on a tip-off.
A total 120kg of adulterated semolina and 80kg of adulterated biscuits were seized in the mobile court drive, and four businessmen of Gurudaspur upazila were detained in connection with the adulterated food.
Subsequntly, Executive Magistrate Nahid Hasan Khan fined Sajib Miah Tk10,000, Aminul Islam Tk2,50,000, Mohidul Islam Tk40, 000, and Fahim Hossain Tk5, 000.
The seized goods were destroyed on site, according to the RAB acting company commander.
