Mild heat wave likely to spread

Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind likely to occur

Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Monday predicted a mild heat wave sweeping over some places to spread.

“Mild heat wave is sweeping over the regions of Rajshahi, Pabna, Khulna, Kushtia and Mongla and it may spread,” said the met office, reports BSS.

It also stated that day temperature may rise by 1-2°C,  and night temperature may increase slightly over the country.

“Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind are likely to occur at  a few places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Sylhet and Chittagong divisions, and at one or two places over Rajshahi, Dhaka and Khulna divisions.

"Weather may remain mainly dry, with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country," it added.

The highest temperature on Monday was recorded as 37.5°C in Rajshahi and at Chuadanga in Khulna, while the minimum temperature of 22°C was at Rajarhat in Rangpur.

The sun will set at 6:40pm on Monday and will rise at 5:12am on Tuesday in Dhaka.
