Infographic: How Bangladesh has polled since 1991

After restoring the parliamentary government system in 1991, six general elections were held in Bangladesh. Among those six, one parliament lasted for only three months in 1996 as the then ruling party, BNP, considered it a "constitutional necessity" since they did not have the majority to make a landmark amendment to the constitution - the now-defunct caretaker government system. Here are the results of the remaining five -
