DNCC mayor: New pesticides will be sprayed from Thursday

The new pesticides have been tested at IEDCR lab

Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Mayor Atiqul Islam has said two new pesticides will be sprayed from Thursday to control the Aedes mosquitoes, the carrier of the deadly dengue virus. 

The mayor said this at a press conference arranged by DNCC at Nagar Bhabhan on Wednesday. 

The two new products of Malathion came from a Chinese company, Nanjing Ecofarm Technology, around 11:15pm on Tuesday.

The mayor said: "The new pesticides have been tested at the Institute of Epidemiology, Disease Control, and Research (IEDCR) lab."

DNCC has already black listed two companies, Limit Agro Limited and Noton Limited, for importing low quality pesticides, he added.
