The High Court has ordered the authorities concerned to refrain from selling oil and gas to vehicles whose fitness certificates have not been renewed.
The bench of Justice Md Nazrul Islam Talukder and Justice KM Hafizul Alam issued the order on Wednesday, reports UNB.
The court also gave the authorities concerned two more months to complete renewal of fitness certificates.
In a report present to the High Court on Wednesday, Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) said fitness certificates of 89,269 out of 458,369 unfit vehicles across the country were renewed in two months.
Earlier on July 23, the court ordered BRTA to complete the renewal process of unfit vehicles by September 30.
