Train communication between Mymensingh and Jamalpur was restored on Monday afternoon after 17 hours of disruption following derailment of a local train at Mintu College Road intersection in the city on Sunday night.
Railway station superintendent Jahirul Islam, said: “Dewanganj local train” veered off the track around 8:30pm as it collided with the motorcycle on a level crossing in the area.
After the incident, a relief train came to the spot at night and salvaged the train around 1pm on Monday.
Meanwhile, a four-member probe committee, led by Railway Traffic Inspector Nurul Islam, has been formed.
