Graduation ceremony of 'Seeds for the Future 2019' held in China

10 Bangladeshi talents lauded by Huawei

The graduation ceremony for Huawei’s renowned Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program "Seeds for the Future 2019" has been held in Shenzhen, China.

The event took place at the headquarters of Huawei, in Shenzhen on Friday.

Huawei officially recognized the top 10 Information and Communications Technology (ICT) talents selected from five renowned universities of Bangladesh. 

The graduates received a wide range of training and technological orientation in China, including courses on: comprehensive Chinese language, Chinese calligraphy, telecommunications networks, key technologies in ICT, different generations of mobile communication — from 1G to 5G, artificial intelligence, big data, cloud computing, edge computing, 4G and 5G base station configuration, etc.

At the graduation ceremony, Huawei’s Public Relations Director, Yan Lei, said: “These students will be the pioneers of the next generation."

"We hope that the experience and training achieved by the students on this China study tour will help them move forward in their careers ahead," he added.

Seeds for the Future 2019 started in Bangladesh on February 17. 

Minister of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology, Mustafa Jabbar was present as the chief guest of the event.

The selected participants gave presentations on E-transport, E-education, Safe City & Smart City, E-banking and E-governance.

Later, 10 ICT talents were chosen from five renowned universities of Bangladesh through a selection process.

Seeds for the Future is a Huawei CSR program that began in 2008 and has reached 108 countries — benefitting more than 30,000 students from 350 universities of the world. 

The main objective of this program is to help develop industry-oriented skills among the students, to bridge the gap between academia and industry.
