Bangladesh girls continued their brilliant run at the 2019 AFC U-16 Championship Qualifiers, thrashing the UAE 7-0 at Bir Sreshtha Shaheed Sipahi Mostafa Kamal Stadium in Dhaka Friday.

Bangladesh scripted their first attack in just the second minute of the game while in the fifth minute, the home side came agonisingly close to breaking the deadlock, Nilufar Yeasmin Nila striking the post.

The girls in red and green however, soon made it 1-0 in the seventh minute, Shamsunnahar scoring from the penalty spot after Tahura Khatun was fouled inside the box.

Anuching Mogini then wrecked havoc, bagging her hat-trick in the space of 10 minutes. The girl from Rangamati grabbed her first goal in the 26th minute when she headed home a cross from Akhi Khatun, makeshift captain of Bangladesh in the absence of regular skipper Maria Manda.

In the 35th minute, Anuching notched her second, after connecting yet another header, this time from her elder sister Anai. Just a minute later, Anuching completed her hat-trick in stunning fashion from a bicycle kick, following another Anai assist.

An own goal by the UAE’s Alia Huma ensured Bangladesh would go into the half-time break 5-0. The home side got several opportunities to rack up a cricket score in the second half, but had to remain satisfied with two more goals.

Anai made it half a dozen for Bangladesh in the 72nd minute when her shot evaded the UAE goalkeeper before crashing into the back of the net.

Substitute forward Ila Moni completed the rout in the dying stages of the game when she shot home after the UAE goalie parried away Akhi’s strike.

In the day's other match, Vietnam thumped Lebanon by the same scoreline.

Bangladesh, who are pitted in Group F, have won their first two matches, beating Bahrain and Lebanon 10-0 and 8-0 respectively. After winning their third consecutive match, the girls in red and green went joint top of Group F, alongside Vietnam.

Both the teams are locked on nine points each and have an identical goal difference of +25.

The six group champions will qualify for the final round, along with the two best runners-up sides. Bangladesh's tie with Vietnam Sunday at the same venue therefore, will go a long way in deciding the group champion.
