Update : 13 Jul 2018, 09:18 PM

If you are one of those who can carry an iPhone in your pocket without a worry, then according to a new study you are a “high income” person.

The term “high income” refers to the people who are rolling in money and prefers a specific brand image to match their lifestyle, such as iPhone.

A study by the University of Chicago along with USA's National Bureau of Economic Research discovered that buying an iPhone X priced $999 instead of a reasonable Android phone is a sure-way to show wealth.

Researchers Marianne Bertrand and Emir Kamenica studied the users’ media consumption, consumer behaviour, time usage on social media, and found 69.1% of people who owned an iPhone in 2016 were “predictive of having a high income”, which is possibly common knowledge.

During the study, researchers revealed iPad as the second biggest indicator of wealth, followed by US broadband provider Verizon Wireless, and then Android phones. Till now the first position of wealth indicator is iPhone.

Even though Android smart phones own the 85% of the consumer market, iPhone is swimming in cash with 15% consistent users. The research also showed a survey of change in consumer behaviour from 2004 to 2016; which implies almost 36% of Apple users use over $100,000 worth of household Apple devices.
