DU student found dead at Hazaribagh

A Dhaka University (DU) student was found dead in Dhaka’s Hazaribagh area near the embankment on Wednesday afternoon. Torun Hossain, 21, originally from Kushtia, was a third year student of the university’s finance department and a resident of Sir AF Rahman Hall. Hazaribagh police station OC Ikram Ali Mia said locals found injured Torun beside an under-construction building at Hazaribagh, after hearing a loud noise of something heavy falling from the rooftop. Doctors pronounced him dead when locals rushed Torun to a local clinic in the area. Torun’s friends, classmates and roommates could not confirm how he ended up there. According to the roommates, he had left dormitory after lunch on Wednesday without informing them anything. Police took the body in their custody later in the day. OC Ikram Ali Mia said the body is sent for autopsy at the morgue of Sir Salimullah Medical College Mitford Hospital.
