2 get life term for raping Kushtia schoolgirl

A Kushtia court has sentenced two men to life imprisonment for raping a schoolgirl in the district’s Kumarkhali upazila in 2015. Judge Mahmudul Haque of Kushtia Additional District and Sessions Judge Court 1 delivered the verdict on Monday. The court also fined the convicts - Nazmul, 30, and Azam alias Sagar, 30 - of the upazila’s Nandalalpur village Tk20,000. According to the prosecution, the duo had abducted the minor girl from the upazila’s Alauddinnagar area on August 18, 2015. Then they took her to a flat in the district town and raped her. Later, the victim filed a case at Kumarkhali police station against the two. Police later submitted the charge sheet against them in court.
